DESCRIPTION OF INTERESTS
My research interests in general are in urologic oncology and in specific prostate and renal malignancy. Research interests are primarily clinical research and translational research. We are presently investigating novel therapies in the treatment of prostatic malignancy. The effect of early diagnosis and therapy on long term survival is also under investigation, as is the use of neoadjuvant therapy.
In addition, I am active in national urologic research planning and strategies serving as a member of a National Institute of Health Study Section (NIDDK) and as chair of the research committee of the American Urological Association. In the latter capacity regular meetings are held with representatives of the various institutes of the National Institutes of Health. |
